“A blood sugar test measures the amount of sugar (glucose) in a sample of your blood. […] A level of 70 to 99 mg/dL (3.9 and 5.5 mmol/L) is considered normal. A level of 100 to 125 mg/dL (5.6 to 6.9 mmol/L) means you have impaired fasting glucose. A level of 126 mg/dL (7 mmol/L) or higher usually means you have diabetes.
